UAD 9.1 Brings Professional Studio Sound to Your DAW

Universal Audio has released UAD software version 9.1, packed with exciting new plugins that will enhance any production workflow.

The Star of the Show: SSL Channel Strip

The highlight of this update is undoubtedly the new SSL Channel Strip. This addition expands Universal Audio's Unison-enabled channel strip collection, which already includes legendary emulations from:

  • Neve
  • API
  • UA 610
  • Manley VoxBox

The SSL channel strip is poised to become a favorite among UAD users, offering that unmistakable SSL sound. Universal Audio describes it as an "exacting end-to-end circuit emulation that goes far beyond UA's original standard-defining SSL 4000 E Channel Strip plug-in."

Reimagined Moog Filter with Modern Features

Another standout addition is the completely rebuilt Moog Filter. While Moog recently discontinued their API500-series filter module, UA took a different approach. Rather than emulating a single analog device, they've created a modern filter plugin that captures the essence of Moog's legendary ladder filters while adding contemporary features:

  • **2 LFOs** for complex modulation
  • **Envelope follower** for dynamic filtering
  • **Step sequencer** for rhythmic effects

While Arturia recently released a similar free plugin, UAD's offering stands out for its unparalleled analog circuit emulation quality that producers have come to expect from the brand.

Additional Updates

  • Updated SSL bus compressor
  • Three new plugins from **brainworx** and **Softube**

These additions further expand UAD's already impressive plugin collection, giving producers even more professional tools to craft their sound.
