Dubspot has released Tracker Pro: Sampler & Synths on the App Store. The standalone iPad app puts a tracker sequencer, a sampler, built-in synthesizers, effects, and song arrangement in one touch workspace. The US launch price is $19.99 as a one-time purchase, and the app requires iPadOS 17 or later.

Dubspot published the release on its blog on September 29, 2026. Screenshots and the full feature overview are on the Tracker Pro product page. The app itself is Tracker Pro on the App Store.

Notes, slices, and step effects in one pattern

A tracker writes music as rows of notes and commands, with each track running down its own column. Pitch, velocity, and step effects for a drum hit sit next to the bass and chord parts, so a pattern can be edited by reading it as much as by playing it.

Tracker Pro supports up to 16 tracks, patterns up to 128 rows, and three effect columns per step. A step can retrigger a snare, glide a bass note, or switch which sample slice plays on the last beat. Chords can hold up to six notes.

Notes can be entered with touch, the on-screen keys, or shortcuts from an external typing keyboard.

A sampler with vintage playback modes

Audio can be imported or recorded in the app, then sliced by transients, divided into equal parts, or cut by hand. Those slices are sequenced as individual hits.

Vintage modes cover the resampling character Dubspot describes for classic hardware:

  • 12-bit Akai-style resampling, with reduced resolution and grit
  • 8-bit Amiga-style sampling and Paula-style playback
  • Vintage stretch using an S950-style cycle-splice algorithm, with length and cycle size controls

Filters, envelopes, and modulation sit with the sample editor, so a recording can be roughened or retimed without leaving the instrument.

Macro, Resonator, and AUv3 hosting

The built-in Macro synthesizer has 24 engines, including virtual analog, FM, wavetable, physical modeling, and synthesized drums. Resonator is a second built-in instrument for tuned, ringing physical-model sounds.

Tracker Pro also hosts compatible AUv3 instruments and effects that are installed separately on the iPad. An Audio Unit synth can be sequenced from the tracker, or an Audio Unit effect can sit in a track's device chain. Dubspot's feature list includes plug-in state saved in the project, so a hosted instrument or effect comes back with the song.

From a pattern to a finished mix

Patterns arrange into song sections: an intro, a drum variation, a bass line that returns. The mixer sets track levels and stereo position, and sends share effects across tracks. The finished master exports as a WAV through the iPad's Files or Share controls.

Dubspot suggests a first session that starts from the included STARTER 148 pattern: change a few notes, hear those edits in the song, then replace an instrument or slice a new recording.

Price and availability

Tracker Pro is an iPad-only app. It is on the App Store now at the $19.99 USD launch price, sold as a one-time purchase rather than a subscription. It does not run on iPadOS versions older than 17.
