Tracker Pro 1.2 expands the modern software tracker across iPhone and iPad, with Apple Vision Pro compatibility through the iPad app, and adds a macOS build that is currently awaiting Apple’s approval.
The update adds an optional Piano Roll, a Vintage Synth collection, two new effects and Bounce in Place. The Sampler also gains more filter types and expanded modulation.
Universal app
Tracker Pro is now a universal app for iPhone, iPad and macOS, with Apple Vision Pro compatibility through the iPad app. iPhone Duo is supported in its unfolded state, using an iPad-style layout adapted to the smaller screen.
The macOS version supports AU plug-ins and touch input, and is currently awaiting Apple’s approval.
Optional Piano Roll
The optional Piano Roll provides a quick way to write and edit melodies and chords, adding a graphical note editor to the tracker workflow.
Vintage Synths
The Vintage Synth collection adds three hardware emulations:
- VintageSub: an emulation of the Moog Sub 37.
- VintagePhase: an emulation of the Casio CZ-1000 / phase-distortion style synth. The official feature reel labels this one VintagePD.
- VintagePoly: an emulation of the Korg Poly-61.
A VintageSub demo recreates the bass part from Boards of Canada’s “Roygbiv” in Tracker Pro. YouTube’s Content ID matched the demo to the original track.
New effects
- Gate/Exp is modeled after the API 235 module.
- EQP1 is modeled after vintage Pultec-style equalizers.
Bounce in Place
Bounce in Place renders a pattern track and loads the bounced sample into a new Sampler instance.
Sampler updates
Sampler modulation now works with all filter parameters, including those in the Morph filters.
The Sampler also gains additional filter types based on the E-MU E-series samplers.
